Consultation Fees

Care Gynaecology requires payment for service on the day of consultation. All new patients receive a letter confirming their consultation, which details our consultation fee and Medicare rebate.

There will be an out of pocket cost for all consultations and procedures performed in our rooms. Most services are partially claimable through Medicare. If you have your bank details registered with Medicare we are able to process your claim electronically and you will receive your Medicare rebate within 2-3 business days. Private health cover does not cover consultations or procedures performed in our rooms.

We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard.

Surgery Fees

Privately Insured Patients

Dr Trixie Rasmuson and Dr Kathleen Braniff perform both minor and major surgical procedures on privately insured patients at the Albury Wodonga Private Hospital and the Insight Private Hospital.

Care Gynaecology participates in the Access Gap Cover scheme through the Australian Health Service Alliance (AHSA). This scheme has been designed to reduce or eliminate medical gap payments. The majority of major health funds participate in the Access Gap Cover scheme and most of our private patients will incur no “out of pocket” expense for surgery performed by either Specialist.

Patients are provided with a written “Estimate of Fees” at the time of booking surgery and are advised to check with their private health fund to ensure they are covered under the Access Gap Cover scheme and to establish if they will have to pay an excess prior to surgery. They are also advised to speak to the anaesthetist for their surgery and obtain a quotation for their fees.

Uninsured (Medicare Only) Patients

Our specialists do not operate in the public system at Albury Wodonga Health.

Patients who hold no private insurance (Medicare only) can elect to have their surgery performed by either Specialist at either the Albury Wodonga Private Hospital or Insight Private Hospital on a self-pay basis only. A written “Estimate of Fees” will be provided to ascertain all costs prior to proceeding with booking surgery. All fees (for surgeon, anaesthetist and hospital) are payable prior to the surgery taking place.

Bad Debtors

Care Gynaecology reserves the right to refuse to treat patients in our rooms if they owe money to the practice. Any patients who have outstanding accounts will be unable to schedule an appointment until their account has been settled.
